For you'll break each other’s heart
‘Cause your souls don’t speak the same language
And your flaws will become their art

Don’t fall in love with a poet
‘Less you’re prepared to shed some tears
For they tread beyond reality
And will often trespass on your fears

Don’t fall in love with a poet
‘Cause they’ll decipher you with their wit
Then cunningly reveal you to yourself
In words that uncomfortably fit

Don’t fall in love with a poet
‘Less you be a poet by chance
For your souls will blend together
In heart quenching romance
